Pre-Season Senior Training Schedule -

Welcome to the 2008-2009 season. With the club now back into A2, the season ahead looks to be very exciting. I will again continue to give the younger players opportunities, if they are prepared to work for them and try to get more improvement out of our senior list. For the club to be successful we need every player to strive to improve their individual game. We all should be striving to get our club back into A1, which we will do with the right attitude. That starts with our Senior pre-season training. This year we will again be training at St Jays Recreation Centre and also have an increased number of Sunday morning trainings. Below you will find a list of dates and Venues for training:

To be Notified

St Jays Rec Centre: 15 Brown Tce Salisbury ph 82589211

As you can see by the dates above we have extended our indoor training by a week or two this year. The reason I have decided to do this is we cant guarantee what the weather will do. We will start outdoors during the week at Hope Valley Oval probably in mid September but I will advise that closer to the date.

With the possible starting date to the season of October 7, the season will be upon us before we know it. I suggest that anyone who hasnt been doing any fitness over the winter get started now. We will need to be fitter than last year and ready to go in all grades for round 1. The season can be set-up now and the first few rounds will be critical for us.

.

Looking forward to seeing as many players as possible on the 22nd August.

Andrew Dunn checks ATCA rules on Father-Son... 3rd August by Jon De Conno

With the off-season birth of Jessica and Jonathon De Conno's son Ben, Coach Andrew Dunn has been scrambling for the ATCA's rules on Father-Son.  "If young Ben bats like his dad, we'll be pretty keen to trade him to another club ASAP, maybe Concordia??  Having seen the little fella in the flesh though, I'm pleased to report that his coordination already looks better than his old man's, so he may be able to wield the willow quite well, rather than relying on opposition bowlers to hit the middle.  Am pretty keen to test out Ben's left hammy for cramping tendencies too."

Ben Adam De Conno was born (to very, very proud parents) at the North Eastern Community Hospital at 10.27am on Saturday the 8th of April, weighing in at 7lb 6oz...or 3.35kgs for the young'ns like Madigan and Frang.  After his effort in the G.F., they did consider "Murray" as a first name, but then recalled how cruel other kids can be...   : )
